Mon'et is the unhinged alter ego of a Prince Edward Island-based independent hip hop artist writing dark comedy rap with zero polish. Singer, rapper, songwriter — he specializes in cringe, heavy satire, and political commentary that mixes high-density technicality with the kind of social honesty that usually gets people blocked. ADHD, autistic, mixed race, dropout-turned-recovered-addict-turned-recording-artist — his catalog is the transmutation of all of it.
His debut album Trauma Made Me Sexy (2025, nine tracks) opened the catalog. A dozen singles followed across 2026 — Gen Z Patch Notes, Nose Ring Theory, Grim Creeper, Don't Do Drugs Kid's, and Reprobate (produced by TM Sound) among them — released at a weekly-to-biweekly cadence on his self-owned imprint Mon'et Music, distributed worldwide via TuneCore.
Mon'et is my Slim Shady. He's the version of me that says whatever he wants, criticizes everything he sees wrong with the world, and embraces being cringe and over-the-top on purpose. I'm ADHD and autistic, so I've never been great at the careful, palatable version of anything — the music just gave me somewhere to put the rest of it. I write the stuff I know is going to upset people, even if it's just to criticize my art. That's the feature, not the bug.
I've been accused of not being serious about what I do, or not respecting the craft or the culture. It makes me laugh. I was born mixed race on a reservation and bullied for not being white enough and not being native enough — never really fit in anywhere. My parents split when I was 11. I dropped out of high school at 17. By 21 or 22 I was on the streets, and the next several years were a loop between the streets, trap houses, shitty apartments, bad jobs, drugs, and the kind of drama that goes with all of it.
I cleaned myself up in my late twenties. Met my wife. Slowly got a life back together. And then I tried to put the whole thing into music — because I've always loved singing, rap, and comedic expression, and because I finally had the clarity to write about where I'd been without pretending.
The 2025 full-length Trauma Made Me Sexy established the creative register — nine tracks (Giggle, Ads, Monster, Gasoline, Alexithymia, Same Damn Script, Caffeinated, Peter Piper, Wired Different) stretched across 21 minutes of dense, deliberately-uncomfortable rap. Themes cluster around internet-culture criticism, anti-work sentiment, ironic substance framing, and the kind of mental-health-in-2026 honesty that most of the genre won't touch.
2026 has been a release machine. Singles drop weekly-to-biweekly on the Mon'et Music imprint, from Nose Ring Theory's viral absurdity to Grim Creeper's anti-work jaundice to the producer-collab turn on Reprobate (prod. TM Sound). The catalog is entirely self-distributed through TuneCore, entirely self-funded, and entirely self-run — no label, no manager, no publicist.
The positioning is clear and the aesthetic is locked: dark comedy hip hop with zero polish, written from PEI, aimed at whoever's tired of everything else being so careful. If you're looking for sanitized, you're in the wrong place.
